    Sabah is Safe

    Kopi'vosian and Greetings from the Land Below The Wind ... Sabah Malaysian Borneo. After a few dry months (Jan-March), Sabah is now enjoying some rainfall.

    In January and February this year, Sabah received 350,000 visitors, an increase of 11.6% compare to the same months last year. Kota Kinabalu city welcomed cruise ships almost weekly, in the last four months. Costa Romantica with more than 1,300 passengers berthed on our shores twice monthly now.

    Sabah continues to host events and conferences such as the 13th year of PADI CDTC Course and Anzac Day held on 25 April that saw Australians gather in Sandakan to pay respect to the fallen heroes at the Sandakan Memorial Park.

    The month of May kicked off with the grand cultural celebrations of Sabah Fest. The State also launched the annual Harvest Festival celebration on 1st of May. The excitements continue on with the popular Borneo International Marathon with participants from 25 countries, including Australia, UK, USA, Japan and more; First International Borneo Oil and Gas Conference; World Wildlife Fund (WWF) International Annual Conference - a meeting of minds of global leaders to Sabah; and the World Museum Day celebration this week. Sabah continues to attract many international and domestic tourists.

    On behalf of Sabah Tourism Board, we wish to assure our partners and visitors from all over the world, that Sabah including the east coast remains safe. The Malaysian Government pledges to keep the safety of all Malaysians and visitors in the country. Malaysian security forces are in full alert to monitor and control the Malaysian borders at all time.
