Sarawak, Sabah makes strong pitch at ITB Asia show

SINGAPORE, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- Representatives of the Sarawak and Sabah tourism boards are making a strong pitch at the three-day ITB Asia show which opened on Wednesday. This is the first time the organisers of the show, Messe Berlin, are staging the Asian edition of their international tourism show, ITB Berlin, here. Sabah Has Potential To Become MICE Hub For East Asia

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- Sabah can grow to become a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) hub for East Asia, including China, Sabah International Expo 2008 (SIE2008) organising chairman Datuk Wong Khen Thau said today. He said with Malaysia becoming one of the preferred venues for MICE, which has been developed as a major tourism product, and the number of tourist arrivals in Sabah increasing annually, conditions were ideal for the state to become a popular MICE destination.
