Keningau Heritage Museum

Built in 1946 and finished in 1947, it was formerly a Government Rest House constructed by Borneo Construction Company Ltd. In 2008, it was converted into the Keningau Heritage Museum. YAM. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra AL-Haj and YAB. Tun Abdul Razak, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, had previously visited and stayed at this historic Rest House. At the Keningau Heritage Museum, visitors can learn about Keningau’s culture, Islamic Civilization, history, zoology, ethnobotany, and sports.

To reach Keningau, visitors can take the Tung Ma Coach Bus from Kota Kinabalu to Keningau (Approximately RM 20 per way). Schedule runs 3 times daily at 8am, 12pm and 4pm (subject to change) departing from Padang Merdeka Bus Station. The museum is located at Taman Mahathir along the Jalan Kg. Keningau, opposite Keningau Perkasa Hotel. It is about 600 meters from Keningau town. Taxi fare from Keningau town is approximately RM 5.00

Keningau Heritage Museum opens daily, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
