Most people will describe Tambisan as a hidden peaceful gem of Lahad Datu. To get here requires about 2-hour drive overland to Kampung Tambisan and then a mere 5-minute boat ride to reach the island. Though remotely located, there are plenty of activities to choose from. Try jungle trekking, community engagement, river cruise, fishing, diving and even snorkelling. Visitors have claimed beautiful corals visible from the crystal clear water, and a boat ride to another point of the island will give generous sightings of sea turtle.
Whether you are coming in as a family, group or solo traveller, the lodge has 28 rooms to choose from and can accommodate you with basic necessities. They offer a buffet meal at the common dining area where guest can expect fresh delicious seafood.
