Taman Kerangas literally means heath park, an area of forest reserved for the protection of orchids. Taman Kerangas is a rare type of forest and is famous for the concentrated growth of a stunning variety of orchids, rhodendrons and pitcher plants in the small area. Taman Kerangas is two-tiered: one level is rich with the growth of endemic species of orchids, and the other acts as a refuge for rescued species from logging sites.
