Pesta Muzik Bambu Tamparuli

The 2nd Bamboo Music Festival will be held on the 26th November 2008 at the Tun Hamdan Hall, Tamparuli. The festival is to be officiated by YB Datuk Masidi Manjun, Sabah's Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment.

Among interesting events not to be missed are performances by the Kinabalu Bamboo Music Orchestra as well as popular local artistes. Other than that, there will also be a Creative Solo Competition wherein talented musicians will compete against each other in solo performances using musical instruments other than bamboo e.g. saxophone, keyboard, guitar, etc.

The highlight of the festival will be the Bamboo Musical Group Competition which is limited to members of the OMBAK Association and the schools that are under the OMBAK training program. Last but not least, there will be the ‘Monogunggak' Competition which is open for the main public.

Apart from the ones mentioned, there will also be a myriad of other activities waiting to entertain visitors. Feast your eyes with major exhibitions of bamboo musical instruments, handicrafts, and souvenirs, delight your tastebuds with food samples, and take part in the fun competitions that will be held during the festival.
