Kota Kinabalu: Some 350 bikers will converge at the Inaugural Sabah Bike Fest 2009, which will be held at the First Beach in Tanjung Aru, here on December 5, this year.
The organiser for this event, Kakimoto Dot Com (KMDC) is expecting its communities from Brunei, Labuan, Sarawak and Sabah to take part.
According to its spokesperson, John Lee, this event was mooted to provide a platform for bikers enthusiasts to network and interact with the public, hence creating awareness to the community that biking is albeit a healthy activity.
"Among the objectives of this event is to promote social interaction among bikers and non-bikers from within Malaysia and its neighbouring countries with the event sub-theme 1 Bikers, 1 Voice," said Lee.
A charity drive will be the highlight of this event with the beneficiary being Beringgis Children Orphanage Home in Papar.
Several programmes have also been lined up for the Sabah Bike Fest including a carnival fiesta, which will be held at the same venue from 10am to 6pm.
The carnival will showcase various makes and models of individually owned motorbikes amidst canopies of exhibitors promoting their local goods, products and services with music and performances filling the air.
The carnival is open to public.
KMDC will also be having its 2nd annual dinner in conjunction with this event.
For the record, KMDC held its first annual dinner during the first bike fest in Sarawak that was organised by its Miri chapter, last year.
