MASwings integrates ticketing operations at Sandakan airport

Date Posted: 29 Jul 2010

SANDAKAN: Effective tomorrow (July 29), Malaysia Airlines and MASwings will cease their operation at the Sandakan town office and instead move the entire operation, including ticketing operations, to Sandakan Airport. This initiative follows after the successful integration and relocation of both its town offices’ operations in Tawau and Bintulu to the respective airports last year.

With the consolidation exercise in Sandakan airport, ticketing and related services previously held at the town office will move to Sandakan Airport.

The operating hours are from 7.15am to 7.15pm, from Monday to Sunday including public holidays to ensure customers’ travel needs are taken care of.

“After comprehensive analysis of the options available for reservation and ticketing along with the strategic location of Sandakan airport, MASwings finds it is more feasible to centralize its Sandakan operation at the airport. By doing so MASwings would be able to pull all resources, enhance efficiency and offer better service to our customers,” said Mr Shauqi Ahmad, regional manager of MASwings Sabah.

He added, “Our customers who do not wish to conduct transaction at the airport have other options as MASwings also offers various reservations and ticketing facilities, such as through internet booking and call centre, or they can simply approach any of our appointed agents”.

“Apart from ticketing and reservation operations, MASwings will also shift all administration functions, including sales and finance, to the airport, focusing at Sandakan airport as a single service point convenient for our customers and vendors in Sandakan,” he further added.

Other than reservation and ticketing, MASwings in Sandakan airport will also be able to provide reissuance and refund service for Malaysia Airlines and MASwings’ tickets, mileage points redemptions for Malaysia Airlines’ frequent flyer programmes and MAS holiday packages.
