Sabah hopes to achieve 2.63m tourists

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Tourism Board hopes to achieve 2.63 million international and domestic tourist arrivals in the State this year. "The total number of tourist arrivals as of September this year has already increased by 15 per cent compared to last year's figure and contributed some RM4 billion to the State's economy," said its Chairman Dato Tengku Dr Zainal Adlin. He said the domestic tourism was also encouraging, with the State recording some 60 per cent in domestic tourist arrivals. With those words in mind, this writer visited Kota Kinabalu for two days intent on exploring as many interesting locations as possible.
