Mesilou Atamis Homestay

Located at Mesilou village, Kundasang, with a high altitude of approximately 1600m above sea level and temperature as low as 15 Degree Celcius at night, Mesilou Atamis Homestay pride itself as the highest and coldest homestay in Malaysia. With that being said, expect an amazing non-obstructive view of Mount Kinabalu from this homestay location.

It is said that not far away from the village, there is a naturally yellow coloured flowing river, hence the reason behind the name of this homestay community. Mesilou derived from the Dusun word of  ‘Osilou’ meaning yellow and Atamis which translated into ‘cold’. There is about 9 homestay provider under the Mesilou Atamis Homestay Community. Each offering the friendliest hospitality with the opportunity to experience traditional activities like fishing, farming, dance and traditional culinary tour.

Other local tour or activities, suitable for group or individuals can be arranged with your local host as well. The homestay offers several accommodations option, has mini-mart, ample parking space and also provide transportation service for their guest.

If you are travelling from Kota Kinabalu, take the minibus or taxi service from Jalan Padang bus station to Kundasang town and request for drop-off at Mesilou Atamis Homestay. Alternatively, meet up with your host at Kundasang town.
