Kampung Siasai in Kota Belud is a parang making centre. The parang (machete)—both weapon and a working tool—has long been hand-made by the Bajau of Kota Belud for generations. It is commonly gifted as part of dowry for marriage in their culture too. They take pride in their fine craftsmanship, hard work and cultural heritage. Visitors can purchase exquisitely designed parangs from Kampung Siasai and see first hand the delicates works of the Bajau bladesmiths.
