Tukad Gonipis, Tudan Village

For those who love incline challenges, Tukad Gonipis, Kg. Tudan can be used as a test of endurance. The Community at Kampung Tudan has initiated and developed a tourism product called ‘Tukad Gonipis’ (Gonipis Stairs) up on the Gonipis Hill that consists of 564 colourful steps.

The view from the top of Gonipis Hill is breathtaking not to mention the satisfying cooling weather of the highland.  Being at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, you will be mesmerised by the peaceful view of the Kampung Tudan neighbourhood perched on the hill, surrounded by rice paddy hills and pineapple farms.

It was opened to the public in 2016 and has attracted many visitors from around Sabah and afar to take the leisure hike. The place also provides camping facilities for those who wanted to experience camping on top of the hill and stargazing. Beautification and upgrading of Tukad Gonipis are ongoing and in the future visitors will be able to stay overnight with improved comfort once the planned traditional accommodation completed. Entrance fee is applicable.
