Greetings

Sabah is a unique land, a melting pot of many race and ethnic groups. The population is made up of 35 indigenous ethnic groups that communicate in over 50 languages and ethnic dialects, each group having its own colourful culture, tradition, festival and customs.

It’s always exciting being able to understand or converse in another’s language. Even a simple ‘Hello’ can go a long way. Here is a list of simple greetings in Sabah languages for you to try. It might be a tongue-twister but so fun to know!
