SABAH TOURISM LOOK NORTH AT THE MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL MART (MITM)

PENANG: The Sabah Tourism Board, along with 4 travel agents, are at the at the SPICE Convention Centre set to showcase Sabah as one of Malaysia’s hidden gems at the 2022 Malaysia International Travel Mart (MITM) travel fair in Penang.

Many holiday packages are on offers during the fair from the most sought after islands in the Semporna’s waters to others consumer’s choices like Kota Kinabalu, Kundasang, Tunku Abdul Rahman Park and Kinabalu Park among others.

The islands off Semporna, Sabah was a popular hit for both agents and consumers as many outbound agents are offering Semporna apart from other international destination and buyers are still lingering at the Sabah Tourism booth towards the final hours of the first day.

Featured products on display that are gaining traction is the rural tourism product where visitors can experience natural nature’s theme park and learn about how the people in these areas are connected through Community Based Tourism in interior part of Sabah such as in Tenom.

Sabah Tourism is also partnering with one of the nation’s e-wallet provider, Boost, to add value to consumers experience during the fair with RM100 e-wallet voucher.

Sabah Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer, Noredah Othman said that Sabah Tourism will continue its mission to promote Sabah as preferred destinations for all Malaysian in the upcoming MITM Fair in Kuala Lumpur.

“Please visit and support us at the Mid Valley Exhibition Center from 8 to 10 July 2022, there will be many attractive packages to be offered are being offered by our travel partners” added Puan Noredah Othman.

In support to MTCA Sabah Chapter, there are 7 MTCA members confirm their participation with Sabah Tourism Board for the MITM Fair in Kuala Lumpur.

In April 2022, Firefly started flying to Kota Kinabalu from Penang twice daily. This is an addition to the existing Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia schedule flights from the island city to Kota Kinabalu. Giving consumers, especially those in the Northern part of Peninsular Malaysia more connectivity options to Sabah, and vice versa.
